Vmax XT seat ?

Does anyone know if the seat on the 1996 Vmax XT's was different than the 94-95's? Does it seat you higher than the earlier years? I know once the Vmax4 went to a long travel skid they changed the seat,.. was wondering if they did the same for the XT's.
 
You can install the XT seat on the none XT sleds BUT, you CANNOT install the older seat on the XT. It will hit the rear heat exchanger plumbing.
 
Thanks guys, reason I asked is because the older seats sit you so low and I'm a tall guy so sitting higher would give me some more room. Now all I have to do is find a mint condition XT seat!
 
I was looking at my seats 96 xt and a 94 le they appear to be the same height.Theonly differance I see is the flap on the rear of the seat

Here is two shots of my wifes 95 LE and my 96 XT next to each other. The difference in seat height is noticable.

HEY YOU HAVE SNOW THERE!Yamaha list the same seat cover for both sleds.If you are looking at the heighth of the seat from the ground your XT has the proaction suspension

thats an old pic.
 
Here's what my old race&rally mag had to say about the 96'. "The single passenger seat on all the Vmax sleds has been reshaped. The middle is higher, the sides are radiused lower, the forward sloping is more gradual instead of abrupt, and the seat is (3/4") longer."
Hope this clears things up.
Also, the older seats will fit the 96 if you remove the round plastic portion (has to be cut out) in the cavity that goes over the heat exchanger area.
