:D Someone gave me this helix that he recieved from bender when he bought their setup with the pipes, then bender sent him another helix because the one they gave him was wrong with their setup and he gave it to me. I will try to make this as short as possible but I dought it. I had slp's set up and this thing just would loose the pull at around 50 mpg and with alittle overev, put this junk helix on and the thing would pull like a train after you got out of hole now I have a under rev out of hole around 300 or so what I was thinking of is pulling rivets out of heel and leaving tip in with stock original weights, this thing runs hard after 40 or so and you can see it when I go by my buddy on his 800 rev piped and canned, I have a 4 sled length catch up to do it in less than a quarter but once I there it's not even close and pull him seriously. I thought more weight the better but what do you guys think of taking weight out of stock clutching in heel? 2002 viper slp's seems to pull strong at 8800 rpm's .

What angles are cut in the helix? If it is a multiangle helix, you may have too much ramp on the low side. If it is a straight angle, you may want to try a multiangle. Since a change in ramps already made a difference, I would keep working on the driven clutch (helix and spring rate) before throwing another variable in the mix. It's easier to work with one variable at a time.

:D Wildman it is unusual to here from a guy in my own back yard, 15 minutes away. I thought about another setup but was thinking of making this setup better for cheap and who knows it might ripppp!!! Maybe we could ride together this winter or share rides north. What are you running?

I've found with clutching that you never really know how something will work till you try it. Getting together for some rides sounds good. I usually ride with 5 to 10 other yamaha guys on the local northeast PA trails and a couple trips to tug hill. In fact, a couple of us ran into a few guys from this site (sorry I don't remember names) at the Montague Inn last year. It was a sunday after a TY ride that I missed out on. My current sled is a '99 sx700 with viper shocks, viper seat, slp pipes, and various other odds and ends. :yam:

What area do you usually ride?

 That might have been me you were talking to, were you pulling into the montague and was I GOING on a red viper? sorry for the delay been working and building a house at night. donot ride much around here usually ride ny, maine once a year. If the snow is good around here would like to hook up with someone here because the cost of this house is killing me, so sacrafices must be made and this going away gets expensive all the time. I'm going to maine this year one of my buddies lives up there andmissed two years of riding because he was over in Iraq so that ride must happen. ;)!

Sounds like it was you at the montague. My buddy did more talking than I did and I'm sure you remember him since he had the rx1 and isn't the best kept appearance wise. We'll definately have to hook up for a ride. I was just in maine for the last week on my yearly summer visit. I've been trying to go up there riding for the last couple years, but I'm in the process of building too and I'm getting married next year so my budget just took a huge hit.

Glad to hear your friend got back state side ok. My best friend was in Iraq last year and is moving back north from N. C. in the fall. He's itching to go riding this year too.

We usually run the NEPAST trails out of Waymart and head north towards Lakewood and Starrucca. Usually we'll do loop rides so we don't use the same trails twice. The usual day is around the 100 mile mark, depending on conditions.

:D Wildman I'm in for some riding. My cell # is 2415533 give me a call anytime when your riding or when snow is flying. ;)!

I'll let ya know when we're heading out. Hopefully we'll have a good snow year with all the precipitation we've been getting so far. ;)!
