Chaincase Oil

80-90 gear lube. the manual says 70# or 80# but the dealer will stroke you for like 6$ for 8oz. for that price it should come in a platinum plated bottle. you can buy a quart of valvoline synthetic 80-90 for 3$. it's all metal on metal and you can't tell me that yamaha sprinkles magic dust on their gear lube to make it better...
 
I use Texaco brand syn 80-140.........the best. Has a flow point in cold as a 70 and has the high point for heat build up.
 
Ditto on the ATF, have used it for years, it works great and is cheap. atf is very high detergent too!

everyone seems to talk about sheer resistance and such, but the big 4 auto makers have used atf in manual transmissions for years, and gear to gear contact is much harder then gear to chain contact.

Yup they use ATF in the transfer case my '00 heavy chevy.........

Any certain type of ATF need to be used or is it all the same???? Any specific brand???
 
amsoil preferably, or any good quality oil, "type f " is a thicker viscosity then gm dextron is, your not gonna have any problems with atf in the chaincase as long as its good oil. Just dont run the local gas station brand cheepo stuff..
