Hey guys fairly new to the forum but it seems great! Anyways I have some summer mods lined up for my sled and one of them is hopefully a 1 1/4" track with 144 gold diggers. I was wondering if I could stuff a track like that in there or if I will have major clearance issues.
Thanks, Steve
Thanks, Steve

simply for the weight of the track? would a gear reduction do the same or not? Sorry this is one of the only areas I am not familiar with and want to make sure I don't destroy my exchangers or tunnel.

The 8 tooth drivers are smaller in diameter there for more space for the studs or larger lug tracks, 9 tooth drivers and a 1 1/4" track works fine without the studs.Don't forget the guards for the tunnel and heat exchangers if you stud.

allright I get it. What if I go with a 1" track and 1.075" studs? will I have to change drivers? A 1" track was my original plan but I started to wonder if I could get away with a 1 1/4 track. I would prefer to stay with the 9 tooth drivers and go with a 1" studded track can someone let me know if that will work?
Thanks, Steve

No, you will not need to change drivers, running that track with proper protectors you can run 1.250 studs with no problem. The track might barely rub a lil on tunnel protectors but will wear in. Im running 1.250 track w/ 1.25 studs and have no problems on my 97 sx! But my track is a connected cone track, the main paddles are one inch w/ 1/4 in. fingers, So if your track has 1 1/4 paddles all the way across ...might be a problem, Id go with the one inch paddles ...you'll be fine w/ or w/o studs!

Sick, thanks alot for all th info everyone. I think I will go with the 1" with 1.075 gold diggers. It will end up being cheaper and will be a hell of an improvement on the stock track that I have on there. with less studs it might even be lighter than stock

that setup will work nice, you could go with 1.175 diggers if you wanted as well
