gear question

Hey guys, my 98 srx 700 has 23/40 gears. Would I see any top end gains if I changed to 38 gear. Running around 2000ft runs. Would I lose any on the bottom?

i think u would lose some speed at that distance maybe. my sled takes almost that long to get to 105 or so but i shoudl be able to get almost 115 or 120 on the speedo. in that distance soi was thinkng of droping a tooth on top to make i up to speed faster, but mines a sxr not a srx so im not sure if ull gain or not but tahst a short distance

I would switch to the 38 yesterday. You will def. gain in that distance and you won't lose any on the bottom.

In good conditions you should get some gains with the 38 over the 40 in that distance.
