Hi all,

Can someone tell me what the compression should be on this sled across the 3 cylinders?

My sled smokes a lot more now than when I first bought it when I first start it. Blue in color. After it warms up, it doesn't smoke as much but color turns to black.

Also, at 13,000 km (8100 miles), should I change piston and rings, or is it OK to just change rings?

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Chris

At 8100 i would definitely do the pistons too

Compression should be within 10% of each other.

8100 miles if you have it apart then you might as well get the whole enchalata. Pistons, rings, pins, clips, a light hone to staighten up the cylinders.

I would not worry about the smoke. Better to smoke than not at all. How's your oil useage?

I am using up oil at a ratio of 50:1 which is on the money, but my gas milage has gone to the pits. Where I used to use $20.00 in gas, I am now using $25.00.

Cheers,
Chris
