My bud was sick and tired of me really embarassing him on his 98 700xc.
So he went out an bought a 02 mxz 800. Now he says he will wax my 98 srx7.
He is stock except 144 studs. 2000ft hardpack.
Will I get spanked or what?
:yrules:

if you have a good clutch kit, nope not at all. i raced the 800 mountain versions of that motor on my mtn srx and smoked them in 500 feet

they are fast when in the right hands as anyone that races will tell you but they can definately be beaten if you take the time to setup for conditions.

I'm changing my clutch set up very soon because my buddy has that sled but its picked and clutched and has a can. We never hit lakes or real far straight aways but he was faster than me. I also will add that I had a pretty decent size exhaust leak that up untill last week i didnt think was that big of a deal. Running my cousins 01 srx 700 I was again getting spanked and he told me to fix my exhaust leak. I stopped at a dealer and purchased 2 new lead gaskets and man what a difference. He was still a little faster but he is also 76 lbs lighter. it made a big noticible difference for sure!

Thats the first year for the SDI, Think it's around 138hp. Lance has one and it is faster than a brand new mxz 800, probably cause the track lug is shorter, and less scrub speed on the skid. First year for DPI, and electrinic reverse too. They do haul the mail, and have good top speed, but an SRX thats running properly will not have a problem!

mxz's didnt get sdi 800's only the legends, and it arrived in 03. dpm and sdi do not go on the same sled dpm is for carbed units (like a tempaflow if you will) he probably has a carbed version and they are good fast sleds in the right hands. if it is bone stock you wont have any problems. ski

Think his is an 02 with dpm. DAAAA SDI, stands for semi-direct injection,he has carbs, sorry bout that. It is fast, with a 115 on the ice radar, best to date. Oh yea thats bone stock, he must have a good one!
