The new cats

Has anyone seen the new cats? No F7 next year...instead they have a 142 hp F8 with a 500# dry weight. Also a 160Hp f1000 thundercat....I forgot to check the dry weight but I'm sure its not exactly a light weight.

Its around 525-535 pounds, but it is not a thundercat. It is a 1000 twin with 162hp. Not too many Arctic Cat fans are impressed with the 30 pounds add on for only 2 hp. They are pretty pricey too. I know the retail on the Crossfire 1000 SP and F1000 SP are just under 12000.
 
Ugly as all hell!

Im not sure why they went to the 800 when its only 2hp more than the 700, smoke another one there....

I want to hear how they run and anxious to hear how badly they get embarresed by the yamahas

Oh, did I mention that theyre hideous!

i agree 1000 horse is nothing when you only got 100 ftp of torque
 
I never understood the whole torque thing, if the clutching is good, it will be in its powerband period. torque may get you the jump off the line, but thats it. to get 1000hp with 100 ft-lbs youd need to run over 50,000 rpm. fine, no problem, just gear it down and your doing fine, just look at the apex/RX1
 
I can see alot of Cat owners rebuilding there twins every season..How much abuse can a twin take??? The vibration,heat caused by there big pistons..they won't last long...Sure looks cool owning a sled that has 1000 on the side ha ha ha .....
 
if the clutching is right, but that does nothing for trail riding. in the trail I dont usually pin it out of corners to get to the proper RPM. I dont want to ruin the trail by doing that, so I dont. wide powerband and tq is really nice in the trails
