I have a stock 02 SRX with a clutch kit and a bender cold air kit. If I do not clean the PV at 2,000 miles or less it will ruin all three PV and cables. I ran Yamalube for the first 2 years I had the sled than switch to AMS Intercepter this past year. After 2,400 miles all 3 PV were trashed. Why is it that some SRXs can go thousands of miles without doing anything to them and others need to be cleaned every 2,000 miles. My oil injection setting are within factory spec. Anyone have any ideas? I run the piss out of this sled so I can not imagine it loading up. Thanks for your response

Don't have an answer for you on this. I started out snowmobiling on a 1972 SL292 and have had several sleds since. Never ran anything but Yamalube and have never had an oil related problem. I cleaned my power valves at 2100 miles and they weren't too bad. Over 600 miles more this year and no trouble. I've even ran the same set of spark plugs for the past two winters. The one thing I have noticed is...I use noticably less oil than my kids SX600R. The 600 also smokes a little more and has had plug fouling problems. Neither has had the oil pumps adjusted from when they were new. Maybe it's getting too much oil.
Just a thought.
Good luck.

Thanks for the replys. I was hoping Amsoil would have done better than Yamalube.I have learned my lesson this time thats for sure. I will be doing them every 1,000 miles now. I found out they were easier to clean than I first thought. Thanks again
