I don't have one, but I just wanted to tell you if you go on the yamaha motor site you can access the manuals for viewing. It might say something on there. You can't print them though, just view them. I have been trying to get a manual for mine for awhile with no luck.

Oh, ok. The only service manual I've been able to find was a clymer service manual for the 99-03 (I think) three cylinder models. Good luck with the search and the light!!

Check ebay under Yamaha parts, there is a whole list of different manuals on CD. I bought one for the Vector and also Kodiack ATV.

Great thanks.. the problem i'm having is on the wifes new VM500 the tempgreg said:
light won't blink 3 times on start up, now i think after checking the bulbs the
next step is to check the lighting coil and was wondering what the service
man. all says to do..if you could post a pic of the trouble shooting page
for the temp and/or oil light so i can see what it says.. and any other info
you can see...

I guess the 500's may not have the self diagnose..so i need to know
if a 500 should blink or stay on for a few sec. on start up..Damn it..

None of my lights ever have blinked on mine. Even before the motor work. Now I kinda of worried they should?? I don't think they are supposed to.

My manuals don't say if the VM500 has the built-in diagnostics. Did you check the owner's manual. If you don't have one, you can download one from www.yamaha-motor.com. The owner's manuals are under the parts and service section.
