OK here is the deal, I might be getting a 99 SX500 but owner says last time out , ran perfect then started to miss& just not run right, went home to change plugs, no differance! Loaded it up took it to a local dealed, the said 150 PSI on one cyl 5 psi on the other! they pulled the head only & the connecting rod moved 1/2" ???? pistons moved freely! So in your experience what is the deal? I am trading a 02 pro X 440 fan for this sled!

Do not know what he means!! I figured YOU would know! LOL! Not side to side because he said they only removed the head! That is what confused me! low compression just a bad rod or is the piston not connected any more? I want the sled one way or the other I just would like to have an idea with what I am getting into!daman said:

Nope! Down here in Kentucky! hard to sell here! If I listed on ebay to sell I would be traveling 1/2 way to do the deal! Then look for a second sled drive again to pick up1 Run my own plumbing buisness (only me!) Time is $$ I got the $$$ do not have the time! I want another Yamaha! sounds like the rod bearing went, if theres 1/2" slop in the movement of the piston, needs a crank

well a new crank is over 500 so with laybor and all they could easly charge that if they decided to go witha full rebuild to keep him from goin back if the top end ends up going after he replaces the crank

It has no power at all and gets embarassed by my sled at 18000 kms and stock power. It doesnt feel or act any lighter than mine as well.
Would you want a motor made by Fuji?
You can find a spare engine for that 500 in a second, theyre not very hard to find, I know two salvage operations that had a 500. HOWEVER, iv seen more of those 500 liq engines blown up than any other yamaha motor.
It has no power at all and gets embarassed by my sled at 18000 kms and stock power. It doesnt feel or act any lighter than mine as well.
