Im gonna replace my viper long travelled rear suspension in my sx 700. What oem brand of suspension. Ive got a line on a 2003 pro x with walker evans, or a 2006 600 fusion suspension. I know that the Cat and Doo suspensions are durable and ride well, but i dont know what years to look for. I would love an Expert x but somewhat cost prohibitive on the old girl. So guys, i need some suggestions and input here. Im not looking for super comfort,i just want a durable and capable suspension with good transfer that if i want to extend to 136 i can. Thanks.

If you go Ski-doo you have to go 2002 or newer. That was the SC10-III - rode alot better then the SC10-II.
But, if you want weight transfer w/ good durability and a good ride - Go w/ any Arctic Cat suspension from 2002 and up. They are bullet proof and transfer weight w/ the best of them.
The Edge suspension is pretty good also. It might not be as durable as the AC, but it will transfer weight w/ the blocks out.

Sno-xr put a cat skid in his viper, maybe check for some of his posts. Somebody said he was in today for leg surgery today so I don't know if he'll be PM'able.

I am leaning towards a zr suspension, i know quite a few guys on the 4 stroke side went this way and I remembered that snoxr instaled one. Havent found a newer zr suspension yet. Thanks for the input guys.
Put a set of MTN perf transfer straps on your yami skid. It will be almost like a cat then. Maxdlx
Ya, mountain straps would make that transfer like crazy. But your still talking about a 99 skid right. Not much suspension in that oem. If its the long travel there are alot of things you could do.
But, ask maxdlx he had ohlins on his skid..... How does that compare to your viper?
You could pick up a long travel oem 136 and put mt straps on it cheaper then buying a different skid.

I long travelled the sled 2 years ago with new oem updated viper shocks. The ride quality is fine, and i can achieve as much transfer as i want. However i have broke the center shock twice. The first time i thought that it was a shitty factory weld as there was a void where it broke. So i welded the lower mount back on the shaft, and after a couple of hard rides she is broke again, same spot. So. i have a buddy that has a v max 4, that wants it so ill send the center shock out for rebuild and repair and sell the bitch. I found a 2003 cat suspension with fresh remote rezzy's from a zr 800 for 480.00 US shipped to me in MB, and im probably gonna go that route. I have bent the rear axle, broken numerous rear wheels, and replaced several track adjusters on the pro action and feel its time for a update. Any idea if a sx700 could be fitted with fox airs in the front, and from what model? Im trying to make the sled lose weight and feel great! Im not willing to sell my beloved Yamaha, and buy a rev or firecat, so im gonna use what i canwithin my suspension budget and try and make it as compareable to the new sleds as i can.

I think if you go to the fox site you can find floats for that sled. they really arent as good as you would think though, I rode them and though ohlins was better, and for about the same cost. floats can be broken quite easy with some dirt on the trail or ice buildup
