Well, I think I’m jumping ship. I’ve sold my Modded Yamaha and am looking for a replacement. My search was for something basic, fan cooled, light and easy, with reverse. Yamaha doesn’t have anything in this category. The bravo is too basic for the $4,000-$5,000 price. Plus the bravo has no reverse or suspension.
This led me to the Tundra. Cost $6,000 and comes with reverse and a half decent set up. Why doesn’t Yamaha have something like this? I hope they’re planning to have a modern bravo soon.
I may even up the budget to $8,000 and get the Summit fan. Comes with reverse, 550fan and I can actually play in the powder as well. Yamaha doesn’t have anything like this either. The only thing I can think of is the Phazer mountain, but it’s got no windshield and cost $10,000!
I will miss Yamaha. I'm sure I'll be back some day.
I will also miss access to a site like this. Yamaha Corp owes this site tonnes! I hope they sponsor this site heavily.
Thanks,
Mountain SXr

Light weight? How many pounds ? That $7,199 is US. I'm quoting Canadian prices.
Thanks though.

Not too far off of your 8,000 budget.

You can add a windsheild, the short one looks preety cool actually. I havent found a pic but there is one in the Supertrax magazine I got the other day.
While your going twostroke with the tundra, you might as well find a used phazer mountain lite with the 485 in it. It will be better than the doo. 18000 +kms on mine and havent had one single problem!

Here's a link to the Canadian site for the phazer. MRSP = $9,199. I was quoted $9,999 at the dealer, But I may have missunderstood.

I just never used my machine. Was to loud around my son, didn't have reverse and was too heavy.
I just wanted something simple that my son could drive when he gets a bit older, which is why I was looking at the tundra.
Can you get a 1+1 attachment for the new phazer?
I'm starting to change my mind on it...... if it was the same price as the summit fan I would probably get one. Anyone have an extra $1,000 floating around?
I guess I should continue to research....

why don't you buy a Skid-doo MXZ 550f, looks like a nice enough sled - I have a buddy looking at one, and I can't make a case against it for how he rides.

I agree it's light weight, good on gas, a full sized sled and I've seen new leftovers on E-bay at really decent prices ?
