i have a 2000 SXr with a camo predator 1.25 track and i have the front protectors removed...i am looking for more traction for racing.
would i be able to put 1.325 studs on it without using the front protectors or are they mandatory when using studs? i would be using about 96 studs.

same track, same problem. you for sure need the tunnel protectors in.(mine are removed) if you run without the protectors on the exchanger your risking a pick puncturing it---->coolant leak---->meltdown. so yes you need 8 tooth drivers and a gearing change to run studs. and tunnel protectors and exchanger protectors. the track hooks great on trails and in good snow conditions but on ice, like you said it's squirly.

I do
108 woodys following the woodys template for the 136" track and is preety much the same pattern as the 96 pattern. Studs are woodys stainless signature series with there big nuts and square, powdercoated blue backer plates. Work awsome!!. I reccomend them for sure!
