I'm rebuilding my motor and using Wiseco pistons. I curious if anyone has put a thermostat in their sled to help in the warm-up especially with the Wiseco pistons and if they did what temp and where do I find one?
Thanks
Thanks

I had built my 00 SXR 700 with wiseco pistons and loved that engine. Advice, coat them while you have them new if you haven't already. I just used the stock thermo and was fine. As you said, just make sure they are warmed up before you nail the gas and you will have no issues. I never even fouled one plug all season and with bender triple pipes, I was amazed. I ran AMS OIL Dominater oil, full senthetic. boost bottle, reeds, and spacers. shaved head gasket. Ran like a raped ape. I never had over heating issues.

Mine does not have a thermostat. What temp was the thermostat in your sled?
I just looked in the online parts catalogue and it doesn't show a thermostat for the 00 sxr. The SRX's had one does anyone know what the the temp setting on them.

I don't think any of the non powervalved tripple engines had thermostats.

I put one in my 97 sx from an early srx 440, couldn't tell you what the temp was, but warm up was much faster and never had any overheating issues with it.

Thanks for that, thats nice to know.
See the link below. The thermostat cover and seal are the names of the parts on top of the head. Perhaps that is what I was thinking about. Anyways, I had a temp gauge and ran 140 normal and between 160-170 on marginal snow.
