97 sx 700 speed

It all started 3 years ago. I have a 97 sx 700 with about 4000 miles on it. I had the stator plate replaced because the sled would hardly start ( I blew a belt on a river right before this happened and I think I maybe overreved it?). I can only get about 80 mph out of it. I thought maybe it was just getting old so I had the motor looked at by a buddy who is good with motors. He said everything looked fine there. I had Power inc. tripple pipes put on, a boost bottle, V force 3 reeds, and clutch work done on the secondary and primary clutches (weights springs and magnum shift kit HAUCk clutch kit #4 with silver spring). I can still only get 80 mph at 82 to 8300 rpms. If i am at a dead stop i can floor it and hit 100 but then if I hold the throttle where i normally do it goes right back down to 80. The motor sounds like it is screaming but i am not going fast. Th sled was faster stock before this all happened. ANY IDEAS????? Anybody???????
 
well u should be running at 8100 with thoes pipes i think if they are teh center dumps have them on my sled if they are teh centers and ur runing 830 ur over reving. after 82 the power drops of dramaticly like real bad i guess. id try to get it down to 81 mines at 8000 right now at full shift adn i can hit 110 on the speedo in like a 1/2 mile on the lake. also how old is ur belt mine wouldnt hit over 85 with my old belt a new belt i gained over 20 mph but that was after i blew my secondary clutch so i learned the hard way. i havge 89ls with a wsw primary i think adn a silver secondary with i think a 46* wich is weired cuse its a stock yami helix but its not the same part number as my 45* and its slightly steeper but i dont thng its a 47* not that much steeper and not the same part number as that. with ur clutching id say sell teh kit and talk to turk unless he knows how u can set that kit up better. also do u ahve stock gearing or did u drop any teeth on top that will hurt ur top end too. also have a freind get up alnog u with a sled and see if maybe ur spedo drive is bad cuase a over rev posible could have striped the key adn its juts slowly goin adn just slipin little by little. or maybe somthing else.
 
Brand new belt same gears the only thing is that the speedo cable broke the last time i drove it so i got that on the list to fix everything else is good but i just can not figure it out
 
Did you check the crank for trueness, I had my welded at one time , when you had the motor out? did you realign the motor. check for broken or stripped motor mounts.
 
oh ur PI pipes where the pipe goes into the silencers do they come out at the very end of teh pipe of in teh center of teh fat pipe? if they come out teh end at teh piont of teh pipe theyre are end dumps and if they come out of the fater part of teh pipe in teh center they are center dumps. if ur not sure try taking a pic and we can tell ya what it is.

and like realdeal said check to make sure all ur monts are tight and and ur clutch alinment is good. ull need an alinment tool and the specs are on the tech pages.
 
The silencers are on the end of the pipes just before the pipes exit out the factory exhaust hole. The motor i think was just compreshion tested and looked at He did not yank it apart at all. all motor mounts are thight and the clutches were removed at Haucks so I can be asured that it was not the problem because it was like that before I took it there.. I am thinking about just buying a rebuilt motor for it and go that way rather than burning daylight trying to fix it
