Yamaha saddleless skis ? Any good ?

Might be a dumb question here; but how do I "shim" the skis? I know what a shim is but are we all referring to taking up the slack where the skis bolt to the trailing arm?
 
Where is the best place to buy the saddleless moutain skis?Earlier somebody said $150, but all the sites I've looked at so far are more like $240-250 range for everything.Are they ok for 121 tracked sleds which mine has a ripsaw,but no studs.They sure look like a good option in many respects.
