Long live the Crue, they should have been dead by now. Well, actually Mick Mars looks dead and Nikki Sixx was pronounced dead after his 15,576th overdose. See what a visit to the crossroads will do for ya, they're still goin strong.
Time to get my Twisted Sister collection back out.

Saw the thread had to respond,
I'm in the same boat as most of you all.
Metallica (pre 2000 stuff excpet 'no leaf clover and - Human')
Joe, the Ibenez God, Satriani
Godsmack
Nickelback
The musical stylings of what ever band Mark Tremonti is in at the moment.
Motley Crue, The post David Lee Roth VanHalen, Ratt, G'n'R, Velvet Revolver, some Rush, The Cult, a few of the 80's hair band's in small doses.
Some others but I'm picky about having some musical content in the songs.
I'm sure there is more but I have so much music available to me it's hard to pick just a few. I'll say this I have not purchased much music in this decade. My last CD was a Joe Satriani Compliation CD, before that it was a Nickelback's latest. There is not that much that interests me lately in full CD form. Ya a song here or there but that's about it. I can't stand the "American Idol" crap that is on the radio. I am about fed up with the same 7 "Classic Rock" tuns that are in rotation on the radio. I'd rather hear classical music over the Hip-hop/Rap garbage that seems to be infecting today's youth. I would like to find popular bands with singers who can write and musicians that can really play. I music from over 800 different artists here I can choose from. Surely something is up my alley at the moment.
End of rant.

Well I don't use that program specifically but even if I paid $1 for a song on I tunes there is not enough stuff out there in any quantity of quality to warrant a CD purchase. I was thinking about getting the CD from a few different bands one was even "Award" winning, Green Day, or even Velvet Revolver or Papa Roach but after sampling the entire CD online there was maybe 3 songs I liked out of the bunch. What happened to nearly a full CD of tunes you like? I can think of a few of my 300 CD's (that are not a 'Greatest Hits') that I like 90% or more of, Metallica's Black Album, Master of Puppets, Ride the Lightning; Van Halen's OU812 and 5150; Def Leppard's Pyromania; Joe Satriani's Extreemist; Nickelback's last 3, All the right Reasons, The Long Road and, Silver Side Up.woolyviper said:might be a rant but so true about current state of pop music - I havent bought a CD in about 5 years - morpheus makes that easy -
It's just odd that a band can't come up with 8-12 "Hit" type songs and put them on 1 CD. Ya I think something changed in Metallica after the Black album but something should be said about the year it took to produce it turned out a number of quality "metal" tunes, Sandman, Sad but true, Unforgiven, Where ever I may roam (my top 5 favorite song), Nothing else matters, The God that failed. All strong songs. The other 6 songs are almost as good but never got any air play. Ya I know I am using a CD that is 15 years old as an example but as referenced earlier a lot of the newer artists stuff is crap.
There are mands that are titled "One Hit Wonders" well I fell that so many recent artists, and I use the term loosly, are "No hit Wonders" It's a bunch of pre-teens ranking who looks the best on MTV to choose who gets pushed down your throat on public "Free" radio. If I have to hear some slut sing "My Humps" again I might kill myself.
SABBATH,Kiss, iron maiden, motorhead, judas priest, old scorpions with ulrich roth,Boc,savatage, billy sheehan, satch, vai, eric johnson,SRV.as for metallica they havent put out in my opinion a good disc since cliff burton died, they need to go back to there roots and strip down ther sound.i met them in 83 when they were raw and powerful and full of energy.st.anger ranked with me,only because of rob trijillo on bass,he is way to talented a bass player to be a sideman for metallica.and as for music in general the industry is in the dumper,no more super groups.just whiny boys and girls who the industry uses and tosses away.i dont get the whole hiphop/rap genra, cant understand it dont want to either.so called music that is looped or sampled is all BuLLs**t.this sort of garbage take jobs away from real musicians, and makes the ones who use sampling even mor worthless than there music already is.
the idustry needs to go back and strip it to the bone, reall musicians, writing and playing real music, not some cpg sampling junk that is looped, where is the talent in that.well there really is any talent involved.sorry about my ranting i have said enough........from a seasoned professional musician, thank you!
ps.dont by the crap! they put out.......it is the devils work.
