April Bronson Auction

I'm hearing crickets here lately too.

The prices seemed low to me as well but with the job situation in MI and the state of the big three I'm guessing the prices for used sleds (and property and boats and...) are going to continue to go down.

Hard to justify owning toys when your worried weather your going to be able to keep your house or not.

Hey Tod

What were the conditions of those Rages that did not sell?? Were there any Candy Red?? how many miles on them roughly?? Thanks. ;)!

BIGGUY

both were red. I am not sure but I think they may have had 4000 miles on them. I think they came from WY, maybe rentals from yellowstone. Again this is just guessing from talking to others at the auction. supposedly had reserves of 5300 but the guy took off the reserves for some of them. And they went cheap. i do not remember for how much but the price report will be on whitestar auction site.

I was there but was in the other ring most of the time and didn't see the Rages go through. I didn't check the miles on them. Tod did you see them sell? Sometimes nosale units get listed as sales. It was a blood bath though, 01 700sxr went for $1650. and was in nice shape.

The prices on the auction site were like $3500 for one and $3700 for the other.
They showed those as selling prices

If you don't know how to WORK an auction, alot can be deceiving. Guy might sell one really cheap just to wake people up, or maybe they knocked one off that low to get people thinking. Happens alot. You guys should have me go with you so you know they aren't messing with you. wink wink. maxdlx

Hell yea Paul, come on up and go to the auction.
Can't say you'll make it out of the bar in time to bid but I can say you'll enjoy yourself!

I think if you go in May Jweid the prices will be lower but not as low as in June. I'm telling you the autos are gonna put a hurt on MI. Between the job uncertinty and the interest rates sled prices are going no where but down.

Yeah, Paul and anyone else that knows auctions well, please come up next month. I plan on being there to buy at least one sled if the price is right. I have been very frustrated with the farm auctions that I have gone to in the past. I would love to learn more about the whole process. I was planning on going this month as the timing is great, end of season and all, but it slipped my mind. I am going to put the next one on my calendar right now.

The Whitestar auction is run very well. They really stick to their rules and don't play favorites. The sled count gets pretty low by May but there will be some bargains. Everbody needs to post if they are going. Not sure If I'll make it in May, But I'd hate to bid up a fellow TYer!
Tim

These Rages appeared to be rental sleds. The first three had no reserve and the others had reserves of $5300-5600 so the deals stopped as soon as they had everyones attention. May is usually a light auction, especially for Yamahas. You can always have plenty of Doos to chose from!

Bischof is right.... pretty soon you won't be able to give anything away in Michigan. I live north of Grand Rapids and there are 12-15 houses for sale for every one buyer right now. Unfortunately alot of them are also getting forclosed. Right now in the greater Grand Rapids area at least half (50%) of the homeowners are 30-60 days past due on house payments.........

NO wonder I bought something from Grand Rapids motorsports last year and got screwed out of 150.00 bucks. Now they are closed.
