which do you think would be faster or has anyone with a vamx 4 raced a new machz 1000??? personally i think the vmax4 would take it but every one i ask says there not sure but i want to know the truth..theres people constantly battlin with me oh the machz`s the fastest sled out but to tell you the truth i work at a ski-doo dealer even though im a true yamaha rider and i think there shit what do you think
Stock vs stock I would guess the Mach may take it in the short run. I had a 95 800 that ran good with some clutching, but it wasn't untill I put the quads on it that it really came to life.
I am sure Tony (YAMMIEGOD) will chime in here, he still runs his 96 competatively.

Ok, here's the deal, what kind of race are you talking about, 1/4mile, 1/2mile, or 1 mile? Here's what I've experienced with my '97 quad piped and 3:16 clutched V4 vs. a stock '05 RX1 this past season... Off the line I'll pull on the RX real hard but after about 1/2 mile the RX would be only about 2-3 lenghts back. If we raced from a roll (10mph) the race was pretty much even until we approached top speed and then the RX would slowly start to gain. Those Mach's are suppose to be 170hp stock, the V4 is only 150hp stock, the V4 with quad pipes and a good clutch set up it should be close for a while but my guess is the Mach will be able to take the V4 in a longer race with it's larger displacement,..for the shorter races (1/4 mile runs) it will probably depend on who can get the best hook up. So it all depends on the type of race and how the V4 is set up, when I was first racing that RX and couldn't beat it in every aspect, I was pissed, but I had to put it in perspective, the V4 is a great drag racing sled, every time we raced from a dead stop I would win, but I couldn't keep up in top speed or from a mid range take off.. it just all depends on what type of racing you're doing.

I´ve beat 1000 sdi´s in 900 meter run this year with my STOCK ´96 MountainMax. I ran 168,22 kmh and the Mach Z´s were at 158 - 160 kmh. The race was on a really slippery river, almost bare ice without studs. I was tied with one 1000 Renegade and F7, new RX SP (´06 RTX) was fastest that day.

Those Mach´s aren´t the world beaters they could be.

In the spring 05 SnowGoer they have the Snoweek Dynotech Shootout and it doesn't look all too impressive for 173.3 hp. They ran a ZR 900 EFI, 900 fusion, Mach z, and an apex RTX(stock ET winner). The mach took last place in 60 ft, 330 ft, 660 feet, 1000 ft, and 1/4 mile and was the slowest recorded MPH. Now in the dealer improved race, the mach got smoked again but it had the fastest speed at 1/4 mile(99.33) so she was gainin hard but ran out of track. I am not impressed at all for 173.3HP getting beat by 150HP sleds that are heavier!

Wow, nice runs IKE, very encouraging! Sounds like those Machs are kinda sluggish for the power they have. Sounds like doo has some homework to do in the clutching department for those things.
