Greetings and thanks in advance for help.
I have a 2000 Venture XL 500 2-up air cooled. The stock track (136x15x.75) is not doing very well for me in loose snow here in Montana.
What is the deepest lug that I can run with this sled?
It has eight tooth drivers.
Thanks again for your help.

If its the proaction chassis which I was'nt sure with it bring a venture you can put 1.25 with studs no problem.I have 9 tooth drivers with 1.25 ripsaw and thats about all you can fit,but some guys have put in 1.5 supposedely without problems. For what your doing with looser snow, a six pitch camoplast predator would be great. My ripsaw is great on trails and midwest type snow, but the 6 pitch would be better in Montana. If it was me I'd get with Rich of Rich motorsports on this forum,he has excellent prices and can answer these questions better than I can,in fact I bought my track from him.

Hey there
Ya, I have the exact same sled as you, same year and eveything, do you like the way it looks?, haha
You can at the very least run a 1 3/4" track and without any doubt a 1.5" track. The tunnel gives lots of clearance everywhere. Also, just thought id mention this, on most other sleds with this chassis, they are liquid cooled and when they say that they dont have alot of clearance, it is on the front heat exchanger, which we dont have!. So were good there.
If you want to check it out, just set your sled up on a stand on the belly pan, (I use a stool) and look around the sprocket and above it and all through the tunnel. Currently, I have the ripsaw track which is 1.25" and i have more than enough room to fit my fist all the way through where the front heat exchanger will be, and I have a big fist. Just check your clearances yourself, its really easy, and a little rule of thumb is to have 1/4" to 1/2" of clearance from the top of your lugs to the closest point, just a little extra room for snow/ice and track expansion.
