I have a set of bender pipes that I am going to reinstall on my sled. I only see one setup for my sled on the Tech pages that is piped. I tried to email the guy that put his specs on that page to find out where to buy the purple spring but his address has changed. I was wonder if anyone had some other setups that I could try and a good source for some parts. Looks like I'll have to order the helix, weights and spring from out of town as nobody here can get me anything.

I am installing a 21t top gear and a 68L chain, Most guys it looks like are using the 51/43 helix. I was going to try the 89L-00 weights with a 2.5 and in the inner and outer holes. What do you guys think?

You need to PM Turk. He has been giving me lots of good advice on putting Benders on my 2001 SXR600.

I'm going to be jetting 142.5s right accross and starting with 89Ls empty (mine's a 600). I'll tweek it from there.

Turk is you man!

Cheers,

What sled are you piping; what year is it; what elevation; what do you want the sled to do better? Need a ton more info. 89L,s work awesome on a piped 700 & only have 1 hole for installing rivets.

It's a 01sxr700 running at less than a 1000' elevation. I want better trail performance and maybe a little more topend. Presently I have carbon fiber reeds, reed stopper notch tempa flow and I just put in a single layer head gasket and Wiseco pistons. I was using heel clickers but one of them self destructed so I went back to the stock weights. I would like to stay at 8500 rpm as I've blown this motor up twice now and don't really want to do it again.

Thanks Turk

Okie dokie
150 mains straight across
50 pilots
Raise needles 1/2 right across
14.5 mm rollers
89L weights with 2.4 gram rivet
y-s-y primary spring
52/44 helix with stock secondary spring at 60 degree wrap.
High rpm,s won,t cause a motor to grenade. Poor fuel &/or lean jetting cause that.

With that setup what rpm should it be turning?
That's pretty much the jetting setup that I was going to run.
I have a set of exhaust temp gauges, I'm think that a good temp should be 1200 with a high of 1400 deg's, am I in the ball park?

Thank Glen

You wanna be 84-8700 rpm. I have 3 pilots for ya...$30 cdn shipped.

With pipes motor's it better to run 2 layers of the head gasket in case you get some bad fuel.

I already have all the jetting required as I had the pipes on once before for one trip and took them off because I never had the time to set it up properly, but thanks for the offer and thanks again for the info it's much appreciated.
