I will try to be quick here. I have my 97 Sx 600 twin I have done so much to it that I feel it is "MY SLED" I love that thing! I just got this 97 SX 700 triple! Instead of pulling all my custom stuff off the 600 would it not be easier to just switch engines? I cannot see that there is a real diff between the 2 but I know you all will know!!1 thing the coolers are bigger on the 700 (under your feet). They both have fron & rear. I guess that the 600 is more personal to me than this new sled Sounds silly I am sure!

u have to change the air box, motor, clutches maybe gearing. not sure on the 600 but the 500s only have 2 drivers so ud have to change that too. the cdi wiring harness and speedo and tachs. either way its gonna be around the same work for either way id see it maybe a little less for motor swap. id say just swap the parts off. its gonna be a full day of work either way and just switching the parts will be a little less hassle then trying to lift both motors out.

Its really hard to read with all the spelling mistakes(teh, clutchs, gearring, ahve, wireing, eitehr, smae, gonan, eitehr, hasle, then)
(the,clutches,gearing,have,wiring,either,same, etc)

Take your time, it makes this site difficult to use when there are so many spelling errors in one posting.

well sorry but i do have a learning disability that makes it hard for me to see my own mistakes with out reading it 4 or 5 times and i don't have time to do that. i don't see words the same as other people. if the first and last letter is the same and it has the same letters as its suppose to my mind can read it rather its spelt right or not. plus i type fast so it makes it hard to keep track of all my mistakes with out running it through spell check every time and i do have it on my internet but with the banner regeneration i can only correct one at a time

Already switched the drivers on the 600, I know about the air box etc, The gearing is no issue both sleds are torn down replacing bearings, So as long as it is just bolting the motors in with there respective parts should not be too tough! I have trailing arms powder coated suspention also viper shocks, hood ,seat L.E.D lights, my 600 track is studded! Lots of parts! Also my tunnel on the 600 is bed lined!

I agree, that 600 looks great, and if you need more jam, just get the big bore kit.

If you need a project, long track the 700, comes out with great results!
Well I love the 600 also! but That means my 14yr old or my buddy will have the faster sled next season! Could you live with that? getting beat by your own sled! LOL! Guess I could put a bolt through the handelbar so they cant pin it!

worst things have happen...LOL

I have to say I agree with daman and yamahammer. They both look very clean the way they are. The 600 is awsome. Just leave em both and build em up even more! Congrats on the trade gone well!!

I've done the swap you have to change the motor mounts which is a pain in the *** on the tunnel side. I think everyone else caught the other things.

buy yourself a set of pipes for the 700 and it will eliminate your problem and save alot of time. Nice sleds btw

I agree with the pipes thing. are you keeping both sleds? why not make them both yours? try something different with the 700. go all silver on the hood, it would look great :)

Yes both are mine! I bought the 2nd for my son to ride or my buddy when we go to MI. That is what I was asking about switching engines ! The orange one that is "like new" it would be nice to have the bigger motor in it! no one thinks it is a good idea but me! I want to ride the orange one & let my bud or son ride the red one with the twin! & less "nice things on it! Then I can slowly get the red one fixed up!
