Ok here's a question for those that have experimented with rollers and I'd like as many opinions as possible. What would the general feeling be as to what the best roller kit to put on a stock secondary for an SRX would be?I know that lightening pro has a good one and it use Yamaha helixes,Benders/Advantage Edge seem to have a few users that like them but there's so many others like Haucks,Maxximum etc that all have their plus' and minuses I'm sure.

Then theres' complete units like Team,Super Torquer and others that offer another avenue to explore. To be honest it's rather complicating and with people going to 4 bangers and removing the addons from their old 2 strokes deals should be forthcoming.
All I'm looking for is a trail setup and another way to eliminate friction/heat from the clutches so that may have some bearing on which one I should look at.Thanks

The advant-edge is a direct bolt on. It uses a steel helix on steel rollers for virtually zero friction. A 43/39 angle or something close to that works great on a SRX.

Turk is right as usual, i have been running a Roller-Roster for 6 years on my 700 SRX, it still has the original rollers, helix and Oilite bushing. Make sure everything is clean and lube the rollers at the frist of the season and it will last like the energizer bunnie. Very quick upshift and backshift (excellent for trail riding). You won't go wrong if you buy one.

I have run the Roller-Rooster on my SX,SXr, and Viper and I love the backshift more than anything like triple x said its awesome for trailriding. I've put many hard miles on all 3 with great results, but I have never experimented with other rollers.....

Advantage Edge would be the key builder. As with any new secondary testing - you need to be able to get a few angles to start with or what would be the point. :o|

For my money - I would go with Advantage Edge standard ramp helixes. Just using the stock helix from them is a huge improvement over OEM.

I've been thinking about putting one on my 02 for some time now and I have heard a lot about the Advantage Edge but what about the Yamaha Team Roller Secondary? Any thoughts on it? Good investment or not?

I personally dont like the TEAM roller. They are efficient in the bottom and mid, but hard to get them to be efficient on the top end. Always seem to run hot and lose top end speed. Too many comprimises with setup on that clutch.

I've tested with the Roller Rooster, the Hauck, Cats, Teams, as well as others, one thing I can tell you, if you're getting a roller, get nothing but an enclosed roller. I myself would opt for the ER from High Tech, I myself run Paragons on all my sleds.

I've got an Advant-Edge and a Team clutch. Performance wise, can't tell any difference between them. The Team does run hotter. The bad part of it is you can't adjust the spring twist. The Advant-Edge does run cooler by far and at least you can fine tune the spring twist.

My 2 cents worth. :WayCool:
