Pls hlep identify Oil Tank Gas Tank

Pls help identify Oil Tank Gas Tank

Does this look like the oil tank for an SXR? I think it is uppose to have a bulge in the back of it that is missing. Thanks! (check out the gas tank for me too.) I don't want to tear my sled apart and have these be the wrong parts - because I think this is the wrong oil tank, and I'm not sure about the gas tank.

oil tank I meant, the gas tanks are all the same after 97 for sx's and sxr's, and srx's, if the gas tank has the 2 screws on top for the seat mount you're all good, the oil tank changed when they put the big fill hole in it, but they will all fit in the sled......
 
I know the later ones and I don't remember when it changed, maybe 01 had a larger fill hole, maybe the tank got wider at that time. The oil tank in the pic looks like a 99'
 
I think the 2000 and newer tanks still have the small fill hole but they hold more oil and are wider at the bottom, that's why I don't think this is the right tank for an SXR ... anybody else know? Thanks - Mike
 
the gas tank has to have the bulge going in for the oil tank,the 2000 or 99 i believe had the larger oild capacity, tried putting an oil tank on my 98 and the bulge hit the tank, you do need the tank to match the oil tank, they are different
 
newer sxr oil tanks still have a small fill hole, but the neck of the filler hole is taller than the earlier sx's fill hole neck. Then in '02 the vipers got the bigger filler hole.
