Just like to hear some feed back on preformance, handling, ride, racing and overall satisfaction. Was Apex everything mags claimed it would be? What year RX-1 was compared?

I rode both this year and really couldn't tell a huge difference in performance rode a 2005 RX1 and the 2006 Apex GT. Personally I like the RX-1 better for it's looks but the EFI on the Apex would be nice. Anyone know if the seat from an RX1 would fit on an Apex? I've seen an Apex seat on an RX1.... My take on it is that the RX1 got a bad rep in 2003 that stuck with it through 2005 so it doesn't matter what Yami did to improve on it because everyone who doesnt ride Yamaha will always have the first impression of the RX1 stuck in their heads,....overweight, tippy handling, poor rear suspension.... but by the time '05 rolled around the RX shed 30+ lbs, got an awesome rear suspension, and handling improvements, not to mention better clutching calibrations, etc... The difference between a stock 2003 RX1 and an Apex is probably much greater than the difference between a stock 2005 RX1 and Apex.
I have both an 05 RX1 and an 06 Apex GT and the difference is night and day. They handle different, sound different, and you can really feel the power hit harder/quicker on the GT. Riding on the Apex feels nothing like the RX1. Plus my RX1 gave me plug fouling problems when it was breaking in, and so far I've only changed the plugs in my Apex once. RX1's can be finicky with the choke on startup, and with the Apex you just hit the key and walk away. I had to put a stiffer swaybar and a Pioneer Performance wide kit on my RX1 because IMO opinion it was unrideable stock, WAY to tippy in the corners (coming from an SRX), and the Apex corners much flatter stock (still room to improve though).
