i heard the miller 110 wire fed with gas conversion is pretty good.
Lincoln 135 plus, will weld up to 5/16" steel, more then ample for any home welding projects, very good performance, make sure to use the argon gas , the flux wire is messy and doesnt weld as nice and clean. Run it off a good 20amp breaker, no extension cords unless heavy guage, youll be good.

Can't go wrong with a Miller. There are a ton of nice little gas mig set-ups on the market for a good price. If you are looking at doing aluminum, the only way to go is TIG. People may tell you that it can be done with MIG but IMO High frequency TIG is the only way to do aluminum. With MIG you could be there all day.

I have a Millermatic 135 mig and it's great, 110v and uses CO2 and argon 75/25. I'm a dairy cattle hoof trimmer and it's just the ticket for any repair I have on my trim chute. It can handle steel up to 1/4" but voltage and wire speed are maxed out. Ideally 3/16" is the max and can go down to 24 guage. I also can use it w/my 4500 watt generator.

I like the Hobart a lot, as well as the Miller. You can get Hobarts for some real good deals at places like TSC.
