hi, just bought this sled and it has a loud knocking sound coming from the cylinder, like metal on metal. so i took off the head to get a look. on the left side where the rod meets the piston there is a lot of play , i can move the rod horizontally quite a bit. there's also a little play at the bottom of the same rod. the other cylinder side is very tight. what could this be?

first of all take the piston off the rod check the needle cage and the top of the rod for damage .If all looks good there check the conecting rod for play you are aloud 2mm side play (side to side) and NO PLAY up and down ,this being said I would guess you need a new conecting rod. good luck
