Hey Guys,
I Was Thinking About Putting Studs On My Track, Perhaps Two Rows Up The Center To Increase Traction A Little On Ice. I Don't Need The Full Race Pattern Like A Lot Of People Do, Just A Little More Piece Of Mind. My Track Is In Pretty Good Shape And I Was Wondering If The Studs Have To Be Much Longer Than The Lug Of The Track Or Does About The Same Height Work Such As That Of A Car Tire.
Thanks Again And Look Forward To Reading Your Responses.

1/4" higher than track lug is usually fine. Biggest thing is don't overtorque them, read the torque instructions when you get the studs and stick to that. you overtorque and they pull thru.

Be sure not to under stud either... the less studs you have, the more force you have on each stud, therefore easier tear-outs. 96 should be fine for most situations.

Studs?
Thanks For The Advice Guys,
The Track Is A 136" With A Stock .750" Lug.
So You Say A 1 Inch Stud Should Suffice. How About A 96 Stud Pattern? Any Other Patterns That Would Be Recommended For The Use That I Will Be Giving The Machine. A Little More Security On The Icy Trails To The Cabin With The Guys Is Mainly What I Am Looking For To Avoid Rear-ending Incidents.

I Forgot To Ask Something Else. Tunnel Protector? How Much Difficulty Is There With The Installation And Are They Absolutely Required? I Know Of People That Have Not Used The Tunnel Protectors And They Haven't Had Any Problems. Do This Vary From Fan To Liquid Machines With Heat Exchangers?
