1999 SRX 700 useless in SNOW ?. Heavy hesitation

Hi folks! The lightening struck the other day and our phone line died, hard to be separated from TYM for 3 days without any warning!.

Thanks for the tip blue missile, I will check the wire harness out.

Blue hooded, I did try the vent blocker, the stupid thing was that it wasnt powder conditions when I did, little powder here are the end of the season. But now and then when I hit some small powder, I did hear the bog tendency. I don`t think it`s caused by the clutches.

My bet is that it`s caused by lack of fresh air.
But I still have a hard time understanding why snow buildup around the outlet should make it bog. There is not much clearnance between the chassis/outlet, so I wonder if it is possible that the exhaust can make it`s way up into the hood and then into the airbox?.

That combined with less fresh air from the air vents since they become blocked by snow, and also steam inside the hood beeing sucked into the airbox?.

As you know I already have three holes behind my instruments for more fresh air, but there are no prefilters on them, however I do have a pre filter on the airbox itself.

But what do you guys think about installing a cold air kit?.
For me it seems like a good idea since it should reduce the air-suction from inside the hood.

Hi guys!

Searched the internet a little and found some interesting threads:

I`m convinced that if I modify my deflector or get a new better one, and also install a cold air kit and make sure that the clearance between the exhaust outlet/chassis is well sealed off, my SRX will run better in the powder. Oh I will also replace the spark plug hats/wires just to be sure.

I`m also going to repaint the camshaft on my GSX400, if I also swop the wheels (front to rear, rear to front) my SRX will probably run much better because my SRX probably decided to run bad when the GSX told her that I put rear wheel air in her front wheel, and front wheel air in the rear wheel, which made the bike much slower, so I guess my SRX decided not to outrun the GSX so that she would be embaressed.

Oh by the way I`m only kidding.

Goodnight ! :)

I thought my exhaust deflector was oversized allready!. It comes from a mountain max I think, got it from Rich. I modified it a little, made it wider.

Is it possible that it can be caused by wet sparkplug wires / snow hitting them and making the spark go to ground before it reaches the plug?.

Or is it most likely lack of air?.

Maybe I should try to run the sled on with the belt in the air, and then try to restrict the airflow and see how the engine reacts and if it runs like it does when I hit powder, I know what happens. (or what`s causing it).
Does it sound stupid?.

I`ve heard about cold air kits, what`s up with that?.

Oh btw thanks again for the replies!:)

Still got trouble with it? Or is it solved?
I got exactly the same problem with my Viper with Hauck pipes. I also tryed a exhaust deflector but the problem is still there.
