I have a 94 vmax 600 st. I'm trying to get it back in service for the upcoming season. Problem is when I sit on the sled, it sinks to the ground. In taken it out, I replaced the rear shock which I thought may be the problem. Is there any other things to look at (Besides lubrication) to solve the problem.
 
Did it always do this? Check for broken arms and links, then consider upping your spring preload. You should look for an inch or 2 of sag when you're sitting on it. Good luck!
 
I'm replacing the bushings. I found the rear bracket that mounts to the frame has a siezed collar, I'm hoping that with the new bushings will work, thanks.
 
I have a 94 VMAX 600 ST skid I can sell you. I installed a 2000 Venture skid in my sled so I no longer need it. I live in southeast MI. There is no cracks and everything is straight. I am also considering selling entire sled. It has newer 96 style secondary. 96 XT pipe and carbs. Also have 2-up seat and stock seat. Top-End was redone 2 years ago.
 
Don't know if I need it yet...am looking for a stock pipe and set of motor mounts for my sled...94 vmax 600, I'll get back to you on the skid, I'm putting it together this week and putting it back in this weekend, so I won't know if it works until then, thanks. Let me know if you have the other parts.
 
Shocks should not have anything to do with ride height . . .

What is the condition of the springs, not the shocks but the springs. Take them out and have them checked for intial length, and pressure at specific compressed lengths.

Yes, worn or binding bushings can make this irrelevant, so make sure all is well and the skid is lubed.
 
The springs looked strong, and measured to specs. I'm getting the bushing/collars tonight, so hopefully will know by the weekend.
