v-force-3's vs stock 01 srx reeds?

IMO it depends on what else you have done to the engine. A stock engine act a little more eager to respond from idle. With pipes and porting it can translate into real hp. Years ago there was a technical article about porting, adding pipes and reeds to a non power valve 700. 1997-8 I think. They made each change and redynoed the engine. Of course the pipes added the most. The reed were the last thing to be added and I think the result was 6-7 hp. Engine ended up at 148.5 if I remember right. Would I spend the money for v Force on a stock engine? Probably not. Same money on clutching feels like more.
 
The stock Yamaha reeds work very well. Unless you have a heavy modded engine & need 1-2 hp stay with the stockers.
 
I Second What Turk Said, And Only If You Ard Moded.
Also V-force 3's Pull A Much Better Signal Than Stock Reads, That You Will Probably Have To Go Down In Jetting.
Example...my Viper Has Cpr Pipes And V-force 3's And The Carb Are Vented. Cpr Jet Specs Are P=160 C=160 M=162.5.
With The 3's.....................p=153 C=153 M=153.
And The Piston Wash Looks Good At 12 Deg On A 1500ft Run.
 
srxmagic, when you vented the carbs do you mean to the atmosphere instead of the airbox? as in you got filters or open carbs. i was going to do the same to my viper as i race and still have the stock airbox which is killing power. so my question is was there much of a difference in the jetting and if so where.
