Elka Shocks

yes, why. a guy out of chicago, (used to be a vendor i believe) has a company called ccperformance and he was the first to have elka's on a srx. however, elka cut the sled program within a year because of the flood in the atv and offroad market. i called elka, they said the reason was because they could not keep up with the market in atvs and off road suspensions and the market for snowmobiles was very low. great shocks from what i understand, heard they don't come from the dealer set up at all and that you need to work at it to get them dialed in, but once they are they are great shocks (all this i am told keep in mind)
 
Elka still makes sled shocKs, but I have only seen them listed for Vipers and RX-1's. Sno-Tek and Mountain Performance have them on their websites. There is also a review of Elka installs on this site. It also states poor R&D by Elka, with incorrect springs. And they are $$$
 
If you go with the Ohlins send them to B-Line Control in Lindstrom Mn (651-257-0828 ) and have them rebuild/re-valved to your sled, sled mods, personal size, riding style and terrain you most often ride on. Bruce used to be a Yami sno-cross shock tech and can get your sled closer to the perfect set up in a short amount of time and cash.

Different Buce's, both good at what they do, B-line is my choice, and he is priced right. Maxdlx
 
Never use Pioneer perf. Bruce at B-Line did all my shocks. I told him my weight and riding style, and they came back spot on. These are rebound and hi low compresion shocks, and I never touched them, they rode great. Nice guy to talk too, and he knows his shocks. Maxdlx
 
Bruce from pioneer dous the same exact process, To my knowlege Bruce Schrader actually developed the long travel kit for the sx and srx when he worked for maxximum performance. He used your shocks housings then added xtc shafts and setup to your riding style and weight. That took you to 10 inches of travel.
 
yeah, sounds like exactly like what I did with pioneer. good stuff man, right on the money and well worth the relatively low $$$$$. recomend it for anyone wanting a smooth ride!
 
A German immigrant named August Schrader invented the poppet valve, now known simply as the Schrader valve, in 1891 as a result of the increasing popularity of pneumatic bicycle tires.

I guess that he could be of the same lineage, but have no knowledge to that end.

By the looks of that antique helmet you need to invest in a new one! Don't want any of those brain cells getting damaged.
 
I'd go with the ohlins for sure!!!!! I have a set and they work great! depending on what your looking to spend, maybe even get a set of TI springs ;) like I did lol
