I posted about this last year on Snowmobileworld.com I beleive, but maybe not here. So here it goes...
I'm looking at a new DG exhaust on ebay for my 91 PZ II. What do you guys think about this exhaust, and does anyone have any experience piping a PZ II?
If I get the pipe I'll probably just take it to a shop for them to install while putting in new jets.

I've heard that as well. I just keep getting tempted to pipe it. People have said that there are very noticable gains when piping this engine, but stock always seems to be more reliable.
Ahh well, looks like stock it will be. No point in spending more cash.

thats the thing akrievins, i'd hate to see the old girl go down on ya
if somthing got over looked jetting wise.. ;)!

I put an AAEN pipe on my 1992 PhazerST..I went up 2 sizes on my mains BUT I am not totally happy because I have such an difference in TEMP..from week to week, I notice a difference in my plugs with difference TEMPS.. so I am still working on fine tuning it so I don't loose my reliability, but there is a huge power difference...I will work more on it this winte......

I hear ya daman. It's very tempting though! I just read an article in the 2007 Buyers guide about the new Phazer FX, and they were talking about the old PZ II's. They said that Tim Bender used to win lots of races with the Phazer in stock condition for it's class... and then when aftermarket guys would add a pipe, it turned the 56 HP into 70 on a light little sled. But those are the pros, and I don't want to have to deal with jetting issues like Kyzer. I wish you all the luck Kyzer, and keep me posted as to how it runs. I guess for now I'll just enjoy the gas and go snowmobiling! ;)

I had a DG pipe on a 91 Phazer ST. I kind of felt it was a waist of money along side of my buddy with a stock Phazer there just wasn't much difference.

I had to jet up from 135 to 143 but the midrange would go lean so I had the carbs drilled and it was ok. I ran it a while and went back to stock and relialibity for the last 4000 miles I rode it.

Other pipes I am sure where better.

had 2 phazers and piped them both one with aaen pipe and one with a bender, I don't know for sure but I think aaen made them for Bender or it was a copy?
Now my son has a Phazer II with a bender on it NEVER once had a reliability issue!
they sound great and give a big HP increase over stock. Never heard much about the DG pipes but if you find a AAEN or Bender single you CAN"T go wrong! IMO

I put 5000 miles on a psi single pipe.

Went up 2 sizes on the mains, and did the primary nozzle swap as well.

it was dead reliable.

Phazers got noticable gains from Aaen pipes. I would avoid anything DG, its cheap, IMO.
Typically with a single pipe you dont have reliability issues and the engine isnt finicky in terms of jetting, its when you go with twin pipes that you have problems.
The only question I would have is due to how light the Phazer is, would it even be able to put that much power to the ground?

I think with the right track she would,my '94 i took the stocker off
and put a OEM v-max DL .092 on and what a diff., i think a ripsaw or
or similar would do sweet

I do have 96 studs in it too, so that would help for hookup. I'm not too pickey about acceleration, but I'd like to get a few more kms/hr in top end. That's what I was hoping the pipe would do. My best so far has been 140 kms/hr on a hardpack/ice lake run.
Plus, it's always cool to say your sled is piped!
I'll stay away from the DG though.

I have both

I have both an Aaen and a DG pipe in two different Phazer IIS (91 just liek yours has the DG and a '96 Phazer II with an Aaen). Go with the Aaen. Better performance in my opinion and better exhaust note.

From what I heard they do need clutching and jetting. If I do decided to finally get a pipe, I'm getting all of that stuff done professionally.
