Ripsaw Track For A Viper

I just received my 1.25" Camoplast Ripsaw Track for my 2002 Viper. The store I bought it from claims it will fit the Viper. I dropped the jack shaft back in with the track around the sprockets and find the lugs to hit the heat exchanger protectors. Anyone got advise on what track I should be using?

I got it on my Venom (same body as the Viper) with no problems, but then again I got the dealership to do it. They had no problems and it fit perfectly.

I take it you're referring to the front protectors. I had the same problem on my sx 600. Once removed, the track fits just fine. If you want to run studs, you'll need different drivers.

Welcome to T.Y. this is an awsome site.... Just do a search on this " ripsaw " you will see that it has been talk to death on here..... Good luck....From what I get from this application is remove front protectors if don't stud, that O.K. it will clear....If you stud then you will need to re-install your protectors and change out your drivers from the 9" to the 8" and your good to go....Hope this helps....

Another option is to use your side cutters and just nip the tits off the track were the protectors would hit it. You will never miss them.

before i always suggested letting them wear in, but when i did that with the hacksaw on my srx, it vibrated on the front protectors so bad it snapped off the rivets and the protectors fell off, lol

We took the front protectors off - that's the way the stock 04 Viper S that came with the ripsaw is - no protectors in front or on the top inside the tunnel.

Problem solved! lol But on the Viper the protectors are welded on.

On my Viper, instead of completely removing the protectors I notched a radius out of the protectors with a grinder then finished with a belt sander.

It should, I ran a 1.375 track on mine a still had a bit of clearance.

Buddy of mine has a ice ipper we put on his 2000 SXR 700, which is pretty much the same set up - 1500 miles and 0 problems (with all of the protectors removed). Pretty tight in there otherwise. I'd also recommend keeping an eye on the track tension when running the ice ripper.

I have the 1.5" ripsaw on my 01 sxr 700. I had to remove the heat exchanger protectors, but i do not plan on studding the track. I believe that the track barely hit my protectors it seems the 1.25" track might clear the protectors.

The Ice Ripper has those mini spikes and could cause damage.
