I have an 87 phazer with about 2500 miles on it which I purchased for my three kids. It would start and run fine for about 10 minutes and than the power would stop and the sled would quit. It almost acted as though it flooded itself out. I would than try to restart it but it would only restart if I left it alone for 15 minutes and than it would fire up only to quit again in about 10 minutes. Could this be bad gas from the previous owners or what could it be???

It almost sounds to me like the TORS is acting up.

could be a stator
stator or possibly cdi sound like electrical problem

Something is causing the motor to stop working once it reaches operating temperature. Highest probabilty is stator or maybe a bad coil. I also had an old Yammie 433 that ran great until it warmed up. Turned out to be a crank seal that started leaking once it was warm.
Caused lots of this
until we figured it out.

Replace the CDI box (with a "NEW" one),that should do the trick,if it dosnt ,then it's probably your stator, but my guess is the CDI. I've had 2 of these older phazers do the same thing!!
If you want to eliminate the TORS from the mix, unplug the wires and plug them into one another, this bypasses the switch.

Phazer Elect parts
I have complete elec. system stator, coils, cdi box, starter, wire loom, for your 86-90 phazer, let me know

hmmmm...I'd lean towards the stator on this...my ole Dirtbike used to do the same
thing...shortout once the engine warmed up...once it would stall...I'd have to wait 15mins...however...it would never die out...only if I stalled it by mistake...
However my boat motor did the same thing..and the float bowls where stuck open...
check yer plugs..if wet..then thats yer problem...if dry...CDI or stator...by pass the TORS to be safe...
good luck..I'm curious to here the results

is it flooding out? I've had the choke get gummed up and do just that.
