So I just set the viper all up everything is finished, but the belt seems to be sitting in the secondary just alittle under flush with the top of the shieves is this right?I've got the 51/45 helix wound at 80 degrees..thanks!

you need to remove one washer off of all 3 small bolts on the back side of the Primary. Maxdlx

Check your center to center distance, Then set the deflection.
The washers only affect the holeshot. In the how-to section It states that not enough deflection (to tight) can cause loss of top speed. But it is actually the center to center that causes this. Also says that to loose deflection causes midrange bog, not true, it is center to center too close.
Like I said check center to center and offset, They all work hand in hand. If the center to center is shorter, the offset needs to be decreased slightly

like i've said previously..i'm a motor head and all and like to do things myself but this sled and serious racing is new to me. Center to center??between the shieves??wouldn't this be what they are talking about anyway? and the offset? does this mean clutches aligned?thanks!

Yes you are right about center to center. pulling the washers is another way to adjust belt deflection, in adition to changing center distance.
