Snow Drag Track Question

Looking at the best track for snow drags. The tracks are 1.25 RipSaw or the 1.25" connected cone. I know that they are both good tracks, the Ripsaw would probably be a better overall track but the connected cone may provide better off the line performance (where it really counts in snow drags).

Also does anyone have experience with cutting out windows on third window closed tracks?

what do you mean by snow drag? most drag racers want a low profile track because the large lugs act like a fan pump and slow the sled down. if your looking for an overal sled track, imo i'd go with the ripsaw, especially if your not going to stud. a little more info may be useful to know what exactly your goin for.

An organization called COSDRA runs amateur timed 660' drags in Ontario with a packed snow starting line. They run it with a full timing setup on 4-lanes. They have both studded and non-studded classes.

I have raced the sled in the past and it is currently studded. I'm looking to run non-studded.

For snow dgrads I would go 1.25" six pitch predator track there better all aroung than the ripsaw. The rip saw is a very good track on hard pack snow but not nearly as good as the six pitch on soft snow.iT'S A GAINST ISR RULES TO TAKE CLIPS OFF BUT IF THE TRACK DOSENT RUN BY THOSE RULES YOU COULD TAKE THE CLIPS OFF AND SAVE SOME weight, whoops dam caps buttonmy fingers are too big,lol

Thanks for the responses.

I run a 1" 6-pitch predator on my Viper and I'm very happy with it. You'd never think that they would work as good as they do by looking at them.

Do you think the 1.25" 6-pitch Predator would hook up better than the connected cone?

Has anyone ever ran a connected cone?

The 1.25" 6 pitch will kill the cone out of the hole the cone tracks suck for holeshot's.I have ran the cone tracks before I think there the worst track made.

The 1.25" cone track(#9854) works very well on real hard pack snow but as the snow softens up it really loses out on holeshot.
