Hi all,
I need to replace the bearings in both the large and small UPPER idler wheels. Someone here had said that they are pressed on. The question: how have you guys gotten them off and how have you got them back on? Is it possible to do without a press?

yes I have beat them off with a hammer. and beat them back on.
there are plastic bushings where the transfer rods mount. you might want to replace those while your at it.
Removing upper wheels
I found out the best way to remove them is to use a large table vise. Open the vise just large enough to catch the opening of the shaft. Put the wheel against one side of the vise and insert an old bolt (same size as the orginall one) all the way into the threaed hole. At that point you can beat on the head of the old bolt to get the wheel off.
