I need some info, on how to install these pipes on my 02 viper. I can't figure out how they go on. Also if anyone has anyparts that i need to put on the sled, to run the Hauck pipes, like the rear heat exchanger, clutch kit, rev limiter, or jetting info that would be great!
Thanks

Are they the one's made by CPR or are they the Aaens (the Aaens have 3 pipes w/built in silencers...the Cpr's will be 3 pipes/3 silencers and a couple of intermedite pipes)?

Must be the CPR's, they do snake around an awful lot under there hey? lol The aaens are a much simpler looking setup under the hood.

Isnt there lots of Mods to do on your sled before you can put them in? Dont you have to Pound down a Brace Bracket, the one supporting your bumper? the left one ? i've seen what you had to do and it looks pretty weird.

1. What are considered the best triple pipes to install on an 03 Viper from a HP point of view?
2. Which would be easiest to install, ie fewest things to relocate, supplied with correct jets, etc.
3. What would the HP difference between the two be?

Not trying to Hijack the post, just several brands are mentioned here and I'm wondering if there is one type that is most popular and the reason behind their popularity?

Thanks

Aaens are by far the easiest to install...takes maybe an hour or so. With the CPR's you have to hammer one of the bumper braces down to make more room. The other brace needs to be removed to fit one of the pipes in place and then reinstall it..if you can get them on in 3-4 hours your doing good.

Aaens get around 140 hp @ 9100rpm Dyno numbers

CPR's claim 153 hp @ 9000rpm's if I remember correctly. I'm not sure on the true dyno'ed numbers.

I've had both and I prefer the Aaen's for the easy install, nicer sound and reliabilty. They fit real nice under the hood and you don't have to worry about melting your hood and wiring.

I'm sure someone on here has the installation instructions...they are only 2 pages long. Maybe someone could scan them and post them? I installed a set 4 years ago but I don't remember the whole process.

Make sure you install a rear heat exchanger and a Bender Opticool head gasket as well.

Check...Double check.........and then triple check your jetting before you get to wild on it. I found CPR's recommended jetting to be way to lean for me.

i got the cpr's on my viper and they are not a 3-4 hour install, first take out the clutch side bumper support and hammer it all flat, then trial fit the pipes as follows: the center cylinder pipe(normal looking pipe which has hauck or simons cpr logo which would face the front mag hood grill) then the other normal looking pipe on mag side (has hauck imprinted but will not be seen easily when installed also has the end of the pipe pointing straight up) then finally the crazy bended pipe. take a look at my post for my coated pipes to help. im running 162.5 mains with 45 pilots with the needle setting in stock position at sea level down to -50c with no problems.
jeff simon told me to run the pipes at 9100-9200 rpms.

your buying pipes to make more power. I seams very odd to me that you would want a pipe that makes 10+ fewer hp, just because you don't have to bend some bracket or shave a little foam.

If thats your thinking, keep it stock, or get the lightweight single pipe.

The Aaens still give you a 20+ hp gain.......are simple to install......and saves you weight. I had CPR's and didn't like them....I was up 2 jet sizes from what was recommended.....checked the jetting several times in the field in back of my house and everything looked good. First time I opened it up WOT for about 3/4-1 mile I melted a piston. I put 1400 miles on with the Aaens....with numerous WOT runs of over 4 miles acrossed the lake with out a problem. So I'll take 10 less hp...it seems to work better for me.

I love my Benders. I thought it set up pretty easy with no alterations to the bumber or hood. They supplied a spacer for the hood, which works well. Once you put them in the come out pretty easy. They have performed flawlessly and keep me smiling. The rated HP with Bender is 150-152. I installed their trail clutch kit, Heel Clickers, Boyesen Rad Valve Reeds system, Opticool gasket and rear heat exchanger and 4 TPI valves with gutted air box. According to Bender, with my improvements I should be running around 153-156 HP. I still need the Head mod completed with that around 155-158HP, ported should go to 165+/-...should be a great contender at that point for any non bored/NOS sled.

Primary key: get the power to the ground where it benefits you, otherwise you spin until the cows come home...which is where I'm at now.
