The pain from the crash and pain of paying for the repair.

I feel the pain three times. Once from the crash, once from the cash and once from the boot in the nuts the Mrs gives me for her pain from the cash.

Thanks for the words of wisdom.
Just a little history on my snowmobiling experience.
Whistler last year. Rental Sleds. 2006 Skidoo summit 550 Fan. We tried to get up to a glacier lake, The snow was so deep we couldnt get to it. Stepping off your sled, meant snow up to your chin. Great handling not enough power.
Banff 05. 2000 Yamaha Vmax 600... Fast, fun, low,They did not have much snow that year so we rode hard pack. We had 10 guys and we took out 800 and a 600 polaris RMK... Could barely hang on the hanlebars on the 800. 2002 Skiddo summit 500, Nice cat walks on the hard pack. I mostly rode the Yamaha, and preferd the ride.
Whistler 04. 2004 Skidoo 600 HO Summit, Brand new. I really likeD the dirt bike riding position, A little hard on the knees. We had tonnes of snow that
year also.
Variouse machines since. Had a 76 GP 433 in the eighties. That thing was
Fast. Friends machines Arctic cat, Polaris. etc. Had a couple of Yamaha dirt bikes growing up. I guess thats why I'm a die hard Fan.

the one thing that I would look for, is if you are looking at a 600 make it a tripple. the gas mileage, smoothness, and sound are worth the difference. I had a 97 600 twin for over 9k miles and have a 600 tripple sxr (wifes sled) that now has 7k+ miles. the tripple is better on gas and both about the same speed. tripple is SOOOO smooth

I agree with Viperguy, the Yamaha tripple has proven to be one of the best engines made, fuel miledge and turbine like smoothness is fantastic and far superior to the twins. And don't believe the brainwashed/uninformed non Yammi public that twins are the way to go. Im my mind there is no comparison between the two.03viperguy said:the one thing that I would look for, is if you are looking at a 600 make it a tripple. the gas mileage, smoothness, and sound are worth the difference. noit saying they are terrible motors, like I said I had a 97 600 sx twin for over 9k miles and loved it. but the gas and oil mileage are better in the tripples, and the smoothness of the motor as far as revving and vibration is also better in the tripple. just that the twins are good but the tripples are great in these aspects
thats all I meant, nit that the twins are garbage! sorry to offend or confuse
I actually kinda want another 97 600sx, just for memories sake lol!

The twins are great motors, but they have had some issues that for the most part have been resolved. Rings turning were the big one....but Yamaha had updates for those kinds of problems.

my rings failed on my 97, and it sucked. dads 96 500xt was a great sled reliability wise, but man was it noisy and underpowered. once mom got a 00 sxr 600 he and I really started to get the tripple thing even more lol! SMOOTH!
