Viper Issues.

Hi everyone, I just purchased an 02 Viper. If memory serves me correctly, there were a few issues with this new model year sled.

Hood has been updated.

Fuel pump has not been updated.

Shocks are origional.

Do you think the shocks and fuel pump should be updated? I call my dealer and the shocks would be 189.00 for the new ones and the fuel pump would be around 150.00 to replace.

Just my $0.02

- I think the fuel pump just needs to have the hole in the bottom plugged with silicone and raised slightly off the tunnel.

- I ran mine for 1 year with the factory shocks and then did the upgrade, I recommend the upgrade.


Other things that I did to my 02 Viper.

- Rear cooler, it used to spit coolant after a long high speed run and this corrected the problem.

- Camo 9837 track, 1" 6-Pitch Predator, night and day over stock track.

- Yamaha dog bone torque limiter.

Thanks for you input guys. I'll look further into the fuel pump fix.

Roswell, I contacted my dealer today. So long as you haven't had a shock warranty claim using your vin#, Yamaha will still honor the shocks for 189.00.

YamiSmurf: Just a suggestion but for another 10 bucks you can have all 4 of your shocks revalved and set up for your liking and weight by Tech-Care Suspension. Located in Waterford, MI. Dont know what the dealer update does for ya but when it comes to suspension I'd go Tech-Care. I'm not a employee or owner just a satisfied customer. Well money spent in my book, but just my .02.
 
ExpertXViper, I thought about that, but my dealer will sell the original shocks to me for very little. I'll have two sets and then have them revalved.

Smurf, you might be money ahead to get your shocks revalved. Most places are about 45 bucks a shock for a revalve, thus same money in them, and an even better ride. Maxdlx
