Question on Carbides for Viper

Need to get some New Carbides for the Viper. I have only used the stock Carbides since I bought the sled. Just wondering what you guys recommend.
I was thinking about running the Stud Boy Duece runners or the Woodys Dooly Runners something like that. Are the Dual runners better than the individual and is longer better (6" 8" etc.).

If ya can, go with Russ's advice...I've only heard good things about the Bergstrom Skegs...but if your looking for a cheaper alternative...I'd suggest the 6"haper Bars...
Just looking at the design of both of these bars,they just make sense and I love my shapers(never knew about the Bergstroms when I purchased mine)...and suprisingly I've never had darting issues...
I've heard mixed reviews on the Duallies...weight being one disadvantage...but if ya are interested..they make Shaper Duallies aswell...Good luck

Not saying berstroms are bad, but the sharper bars are great bars too. They corner great in all conditions. They make a duece bar too. Maxdlx
 
I went with 8 inch woodys carbides from rich. Its worth it even though we live in Canada.

Did over 1800 miles on them and they are still good.

I'am using Stud Boy 6" shaper bars with Berstrom Ski-Savers ( they help save the ski and make your keel a little deeper too). This is my second pair of shaper bars: first pair I got 2400 miles and I could have put more miles on but decided to change to a new pair. I have the same sled and trail ride in Michigan.

I have had good luck with Woody's dually's. Point and shoot, No darting at all! Running 8" on mine and 6" on my wife's, both work great!
 
I currently have on 8" shaper bars, I like them a lot. I had the woodys dualys before the shapers and while they did dart less, they seemed to push a lot. They're both good bars though.

how long do you think those 10 inch duallys you sold me for my srx will last?

My cousin called them lawn darts when i he got them in the mail
 
until the carbide completely wears down? I wish I could tell you, we have yet to wear down to the host bar yet! The carbide Last! Anywhere from 3-5000 miles I would guess. We are all running the original carbides on our sleds and all of the sleds have about 2500 miles on the carbides and they are still going strong.
 
I put Woody Trailblazer 6" carbides on mine and shimmed the skis and it handles awesome. They seem to be holding up real well too.. I'm not convinced that doolys would be any good.
 
The duallys we sold him were custom made by us and with our carbide and host bar. personall, I do not recommend them. IMHO, they are heavier and they will not bite nearly as hard in the corners because the pressure is dispersed. The only thing they do well at is preventing darting. We run all of our regular carbide on our sleds and have no complaints.
 
I put on a set of 6" Stud Boy Shaper bars at the beginning of last season. I am very happy with them after putting on 1,400 miles last year. I feel that any dually set up with increase the steering effort over a single carbide. G.B.
