New to yamahas, and I need to swap out the track. I read the technical write up on the tech pages, seems fairly straight forward, just wondering if anyone has any other pictures of the process or steps that would be helpful for an SRX newbie!

Just remember that the brake disc WILL be a bugger to get off. You just have to work at it and pry it and pull it and it will pop off eventually.

yeah some of these guys have done er' without dissassembling the parking brake (hopefully they will chime in as I never knew it was possible) and I burned ALOT of hours and beers figuring it out and I still cant tell you how it goes. everything else is gravy, done er' many times 
I just did a track swap on my Viper. Here are a few of my tips: You Do NOT have to remove the parking brake. You will only have to pull the chain case out far enough to slide the driveshaft out. Make sure you check both the drive shaft and jack shaft bearings. They are very easy to replace at this point. Mine were both shot. Incidentally, the chaincase bearings were like new. If you have to replace the jack shaft bearing, you will have to completely remove the chaincase from the shafts, but you still will not have to remove the parking brake. It helps to have the owners manual for the torque specs when reassembling. Any other questions, feel free to ask!

one awesome hint I received: lay the sled on it's side to reinstall the skid
I struggled for 3 hrs. chucking wrenches, tears, everything, even with a buddies fancy sled lift. They anotehr buddy said to tip the sled on it's side. skid went in in 30 seconds. bolt holes were a dream to line up, and my arms were no longer fatigued from tyrin gto hold everything up.....
you can pull the shaft without messing with the brake

I found that suspending the sled from the ceiling and setting a floor jack under the track and skid worked great and also when it comes to putting the bolts in its better to have another pair of hands. Print out the sheet in the tech pages, i followed step by step and it was no sweat at all.

that's how I did it too, but struggled holding everything up.
unbelieveable how easy it went when i tipped the sled on to a large square of foam and loaded the skid into the track, and bolted up the mounting points
