I'm really partial to the VMAX. It just needs the air box and carbs cleaned (a critter made a nest in there). I kind of like the old school pin stripping.

The Exciter is ready to go...only thing it could use is a new track...he had one with the truck load of spare parts he included in the deal for a case of Natural light. Also in the parts is a Aaen single pipe which I will clean up and put it on. I think the "over-Excited" graphic needs to go.

Is that all old yamahammers are worth? I thought it would take at least 2 cases for both! LOL Nice job guy, those exciters are great sled's, wish i still had mine for the kid to learn on. The pin striping takes me back to bell bottom's and trans ams......Have a good one dude! JB :bling:

I have very often been refered to as an A$$....not very often a lucky A$$.

I'm going to hold on to the VMAX and most likely sell the Exciter....we'll see.

Always loved the V-Max, I think I was 8 when my dad bought a Phazer instead of the V-MAX, I never forgave him.

My second sled was a 87 Exciter, jumped from a 250 enticer to that... in hind sight I can't believe I didn't hurt myslef on that sled at 13 years old.

Great looking group, enjoy

Like mentioned earlier... I like how the entire fleet matches! SLeds from the past and present! Looks good man. Great deal! I dunno how I've never seen a v Max like that before! Learn something new every day.

Thanks guys. I had a chance to run the Exciter a few days ago and I was really impressed...pulls harder than I thought it would, its a good running little machine. I'm really looking forward to running the VMAX.

Speaking of the VMAX....it has a oil dip stick in the engine case just inside of the recoil. Any one know what thats for? On the hood it refers to it as the gear case. I've never seen anything like that on a 2 stroke.

Tom

We have a 84 Vmax. Great sled, when it´s running LOL ! We have had our share of electrical problems with it.

Both sleds look clean and ready to go. When you get that Vmax540 tuned, it will kick any Exciters a$$ on the lake. It just outruns pretty much everything from that era.

Vipertom

thats the gearcase that drives your water and oil injection pumps holds 1.18 - 1.35 oz of GL-3 SAE 75 or 80 gear oil
