I beleive that the Yami. Viper is one of the brands quicker, and faster sleds. But from a historical perspective, I was wondering where it would rank against other Yamaha sleds from the fairly recent past to present.
My Guesses would be one of the current 150 HP four strokes as #1, at least for top end, if not all out quickness, followed by the 700 SXr, then maybe the Vipers. I'm talking stock sleds here.
So, let the opinions flow....

1978 Enticer ET 250 or any other old 250. This is what started it all. These sleds could withstand a ton of abuse and were reliable as could be. Not to mention for what they were they run pretty fast. The old 440 SS put a smile on everyone face that roode one. Especially if they had a clutch kit.

YOU MEAN THE 1968 SL 350, THE 69 351 WAS WAY BETTER  That's were "IT ALL STARTED".

The True OLD IRON WARRIORS........1970 SS396....1973 SR643 & 433....1974 GPX'S 338 & 433....1976 1st SRX's ;)! ;)! ;)! ;)! , I had these and raced these OLD WARRIORS...............Seems Like Just Yesterday

Yamaha has sure come a very long ways since then. The APEX's should be the fastest............. 2001-2002 SRX's, then 1995 VMAX4 800's. HECK ALL YAMAHAS ARE FAST..............even back 1n 1968

I got to go with BOUNTY on this one - Apex, 01-02 SRX, 95 VMAX4 800 - (owned all three) - I think the Viper would be next then the SX's - another "rockin" old iron Yami IMO was the late 70's Exciter 440's - had alot of fun with them - mopped up alot of 5000 El Tigre's - oh the memories!!!
