Statement as of 11:00 AM EDT on October 11, 2006

... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect from 4 PM this
afternoon to 8 am EDT Friday...

A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect from 4 PM this afternoon
to 8 am EDT Friday.

Rain will mix with and change to snow by late afternoon with
accumulations by early evening of 1 to 2 inches. Snow will fall
heavy at times into Thursday night with storm total accumulations
near 2 feet expected over much of the Keweenaw peninsula by Friday
morning. Occasional blizzard conditions are possible tonight into
Thursday night as west winds increase to 25 to 35 mph with gusts
near 50 mph. The strong winds may also down trees and produce
power outages.

A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow are
expected or occurring. Strong winds are also anticipated. This
will make travel very hazardous or impossible.

Hopefully its a sign of good things to come, I love early season riding especially when the the trails are officially open on dec.1.They are even saying that we could get 8 in. in the northern lower. It will mostly melt with the ground as warm as it is, but it'll help cool it down and set the stage for later snows to sick good, lets keep our fingers crossed!

The warnings are true, first time I ever watch the weather on tv for more then two seconds. Love seeing those warnings, although not for my area, but close enough!!

Im not ready for snow yet, still lots of things I want to do yet to the sled!

it is snowing outside here in southern wisconsin right now it is awesome but of course it is all melting when it hits the ground
