Viper Handlebar Riser

How high can I go with a handlebar riser for my 2003 Viper ER without having to extend the cables? Got any mfgr recommendations? What are the going prices for these?
 
I ran a 4 inch, and only needed the oil cable extension thing. I would sell the riser and the extension for $40 shipped. Maxdlx

not to hijack but what do you run now? I thought of going with a pivot riser myself
 
I have a pivot riser withe a 4" block which makes it 5.25 rise. i had to do all cables and electrical to get that height. most guys will say 2" is all about you can get with stock setup.
 
to answer your question... 2" is the highest you can go without any extensions. ~$20 for a 2" riser block with hardware.
 
BS I ran the 3 inch for 1/2 a year with no problems, the 4 inch would fit, but I didn't like how tight the oil cable was. You have to reroute the cables, but it will work. i now have a pivot 5.25 too. Longer cables and brake line. Maxdlx
 
so i guess 3" will work... although I wouldn't trust riding it long-term with everything pulled that tight.
 
3 in will work if you take the wire loop off your top stearing post mount. and none of the cables will be tight i ran my sled like this for 2 years

max i guess you are lucky, because on the 3 different vipers i have done, 2" rise was all i would want to go with stock cables. Like i said even even now the oil cable is a little tighter than i would like because i would like to go to 6.25. there are not alot options for rerouting cables on the viper.
 
Nope that would put you at 4.25. The brake hose would be way too tight then. It was tight on mine at 4 inches. I think Rich sells the throttle and oil cables in a set for like 30 bucks, and the brake line is 50 to 60 from most shops. Maxdlx

I have a 2 in Powermadd one and it seems to be very well made, I have had it on my Viper for about 4 years and no problems
 
i haven't rode yet with the pivot, but I like how it puts the bars where you need them. Maxdlx
 
the pivot is awesome, if you are going just 2" inches i wouldnt bother with a pivot not that much to gain. but anything above 2" i would get the pivot. straight risers push the bars back and up, putting you father back. the pivot allows you to go higher and stay forward.
