I have a 98 VMAX XT in mint shape, I am considering peeling all of the decals off of it to make it a completely black sled. Should I do it? Any one have pictures of this sled in all Black?
Thanks

Yes, make it all black then paint the winshield black, ...now that would be awesome!! I would then get some orange/yellow flame decals from Redmater.
Cheers.

I wouldn't do it,but thats me...
well it would look good BUT let me tell ya taking of the factory decals is not at all easy and there's a good chance you will damage the paint while doing it. I just took mine of this past weekend to put new ones on and it sucked.

the vinyl decal i took off my sled were a piece of cake to take off, there maybe a little adhesive left on the hood but that can be taken care of with some adhesive remover. i did this exact thing and i loved it all black but i dont think i have any pictures of it with the vlack hood on it. richerich on this website has good looking sled as his avatar.

I'd go for it. They look sweet all black!

It'll look like the hood got smashed up and was repaired. If your going to do it, you might as well start out with a messed up hood, or a light weight hood.

Do it i did it with my factory xtc hood, the tealy green blue color it looked sweet, the stickers wernt as bad as everyone is saying just take a hair dryer and make sure its warms then peal them off, sticky stuff left be hind just take goo-gone or a little gas but if you use gas dont us alot becusae you will go threw your clear coat. then after your done throw a coat of wax on there and it will be nice. i like all black it would look really good.
Look at my avatar. Oh ya, to much snow lol!! I have a 97 XTC that WAS teal.
Now all black with red grill inserts and a smoked Cobra windshield. I had a local shop strip and paint at a VERY reaonable charge of 150.00. HAs held up very well, still looks sharp IMHO.

Only do it if your going to put a strobing red light on the front that goes from side to side, then make the sled talk to you and call it KIT. Totally kidding. I'm not a fan of single color sleds, but it would probably look good. go for it.
