Tech Section Prize Contest…

I would like the users to put together tech info articles that could be added to the Tech section on Totallyamaha. Each article would need to have pictures, detailed information and submitted to webmaster@totallyamaha.com for approval. If your article is well thought out, not a duplication of what we presently have and valuable to the Yamaha user it will be tossed into the drawing.

This is a great idea that was proposed by Crewcheif47. I would select a winner twice this season from each tech article written. As I mentions each article would get your name in the drawing. Lets hear your thoughts.

would the write ups on race logic be accountable or no? maybe some could post on something that is asked quite often so that someone could do a write up on it. its hard to think of something in the past, but the things asked most often would be the best to do a write up on. cool idea, and thanks for makin it happen MRsled!
 
i can think of a few. i didn't check the tech pages yet on them but fixing the fuel pumps on the vipers where they would freeze up, cleaning and adjusting powervalves, putting newer proaction, proactive, mono's in later model sleds, squish angles/porting/blueprinting/port duration/all that stuff (could be a book in itself), maybe nosboy would grace us and do a write up on nitrous. those are a few i can think of. just some ideas for if anyone would like to do some write ups on.
 
I am thinking about that all members can play...I will remove that. SXviper, you better read the tech pages as most of the stuff you mention is in there...
 
"... only he who giveth's shall receive..." no offense but if free information where it may have cost someone $$$ in trial and error, money that you as a reader don't have to spend because of their trials, isn't enough, i think that its a fair deal to sanction it to vip's because they help the site continue on. plus, in my opinion, that way not just some joe shmoe can come along and write something up in there about porting a chaincase and adding titanium springs to help shove the pistons back down for more power. vip is money well spent in my mind.

How about a tech article on how to manipulate the wife into thinking that all the sleds and accessory's I buy are a good thing and how to ease her into the thought that I only spend half as much as my stuff really cost!!

I can provide pics of her look of disaproval throughout the process!!


All kidding aside I really do like the idea though, I have spent plenty of time looking through the tech section and certainly appreciate all of the work behind it.
 
I also appreciate the tech section and it is the first place I look for project instructions. The $35 manual is not really needed with the guy's here. If I can think of a project I'll let you know.

One thing I would really like and I don't want to step on anyone's toes but maybe a refresh or additions to the articles that are already there. Some seem a bit lacking or have typeo's/grammar issues that make following along a bit difficult.

Just a thought.

Now them there are some tech pointers I could use.
 
MrSled may want to 'dangle the carrot' and let everyone in on what they're competing for, just to ramp up the motivation, unless of course the entries are flying in.
